# Personal settings

> Change your own Meetings settings: transcription indicator, shortcut, notifications, transcription and summary language, personal dictionary, templates and calendars.

## Open your Meetings settings

Go to [Settings > Account > Meetings](https://app.langdock.com/settings/account/meetings) to change your own Meetings settings. They apply only to you.

Some settings appear only in the desktop app. Others appear in the browser too, but only take effect in the desktop app.

## General

![General and Notifications sections of the Meetings settings in the browser with Live meeting indicator, Pause media during meetings, New recording shortcut, Scheduled meetings and Detected calls](https://mintcdn.com/langdock-34/9AYeYQfWKDMjFQBi/images/meetings/meetings-personal-general.png?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=9AYeYQfWKDMjFQBi\&q=85\&s=d383ac622d39af7216a00d02277c3d94)

| Setting | Where | What it does |
| - | - | - |
| **Live meeting indicator** | Desktop app and browser | Shows a small transcription indicator at the bottom of your screen while transcribing |
| **Pause media during meetings** | Desktop app | Pauses music and other media when a transcription starts. The setting is shown in the browser too, but only the desktop app pauses media. |
| **Show in menu bar** (macOS) or **Show in system tray** (Windows) | Desktop app only | Shows your next meeting next to the Langdock icon |
| **New recording shortcut** | Desktop app only | Starts a new transcription from anywhere, for example with ⌥ ⇧ R. Select the shortcut to change it, or **×** to remove it. In the browser, the control is greyed out with "Recording shortcuts are only available in the desktop app." |
| **Speaker names** | Desktop app only | Shows who's speaking in the transcript. See [Turn on speaker names](https://docs.langdock.com/en/using-langdock/meetings/getting-started.md#turn-on-speaker-names). |
| **Test connection** | Desktop app only | Checks whether transcription works on your network, without capturing audio. See [Troubleshooting](https://docs.langdock.com/en/using-langdock/meetings/troubleshooting.md#transcription-on-a-company-network). |
| **Test watermark camera** | Desktop app only | Checks that the watermark camera is ready. Appears when your workspace requires the watermark, or once the camera is installed. See [Watermark and transcription notices](https://docs.langdock.com/en/using-langdock/meetings/watermark.md). |

## Notifications

These notifications come from the desktop app. You can change them in the browser too, and the desktop app picks up the change.

| Setting | What it does |
| - | - |
| **Scheduled meetings** | Notifies you before a meeting in your calendar starts |
| **Detected calls** | Notifies you when a call is detected, so you can start taking notes |

## Language

| Setting | What it does |
| - | - |
| **Transcription language** | The language spoken in your meetings. Choose **Multi-language** for meetings that switch between languages. You can't change it during a transcription. |
| **Summary language** | **Match meeting language** by default, or a fixed language for all summaries |

## Personal dictionary

Add product names, people's names and jargon under **Personal dictionary** so they're spelled correctly in transcripts and summaries. Select **Add term** to add one.

## Templates

Under **Templates**, choose a **Default template** for new meeting summaries. You can still choose a different template for each meeting. Select **Manage** next to **Your templates** to create, edit and share templates with your own sections and instructions.

## Calendar

Under **Calendar**, connect **Google Calendar** or **Outlook Calendar**, or use the switch next to a connected calendar to show or hide its events in Meetings. See [Connect your calendar](https://docs.langdock.com/en/using-langdock/meetings/getting-started.md#connect-your-calendar).
