# Create an app from a template

> Start from a ready-made app in the template gallery, then customize it in chat for your team.

Templates are ready-made apps that you copy into your workspace and adapt in chat. They give you a working starting point, so you can focus on the changes your team needs. To use a template, you need access to Apps and the **Create apps** permission. See [Access requirements](https://docs.langdock.com/en/using-langdock/apps/introduction.md#access-requirements).

## Browse templates

**1. Open Apps**

Click **Apps** in the sidebar.

**2. Click Browse templates**

Click **Browse templates** next to **Create app**. The **App templates** page opens.

Use **Search templates** to find a template by name. Click **Featured** or a category to narrow the list.

Templates from Langdock include:

* **Employee onboarding**
* **Visitor Management**
* **Training matrix**
* **Company Events**
* **Production dashboard**
* **Forms**
* **Langdock Translate**
* **Live Polls**

## Review a template

Click a template to open its details. Read the description to check whether it fits your task.

For example, **Employee onboarding** is a starting point for managing new hires, onboarding tasks, documents, and training.

## Use the template

Click **Use template** and wait for the app to load in the builder. Langdock creates your copy of the app right away. It's private to you until you share it, and the button at the top right shows **Created**.

The builder opens with the chat on the left and the app preview on the right. In this example, the Employee onboarding app shows a sample employee's first day and tasks.

## Customize your app

Describe the changes you want in the chat. For example, ask the builder to adapt the onboarding tasks to your team's process or to change the layout. You can also select an element in the preview and comment on it. See [Create and edit an app](https://docs.langdock.com/en/using-langdock/apps/create-and-edit.md).

Review the updated app in **Preview**. Keep requesting changes until the app fits your needs.

An app created from a template works like any other app. The **Preview**, **Analytics**, **Integrations**, **Data**, and **AI** tabs and the other app controls work the same way. When the app is ready for your team, [share it](https://docs.langdock.com/en/using-langdock/apps/publish-and-share.md#share-an-app).
