# Delete Prompt

> Delete a prompt from your workspace

Permanently deletes a prompt from your workspace. This action cannot be undone.

## Required Scopes

This endpoint requires the `PROMPT_API` scope.

  Requires creator access, workspace editor access, or group editor access on the prompt's folder.

## Parameters

| `promptId` | string | Yes      | UUID of the prompt to delete. |

## Error Handling

| Status Code | Description                                |

| 400         | Invalid prompt ID format                   |
| 401         | Invalid or missing API key                 |
| 403         | Missing `PROMPT_API` scope or write access |
| 404         | Prompt not found                           |
| 429         | Rate limit exceeded                        |
| 500         | Internal server error                      |
