# Get Seats

> Read paid, assigned, and free seats for Business and Business Max

Read how many seats the workspace has paid for, how many active members sit on each plan, and how many paid seats are still free. Amounts are not returned here. This route exists only for mode `ai-models-included`.

The call uses the workspace API key's `BILLING_API` scope.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Call this route when `GET /billing/v1/mode` returns `ai-models-included`. Dedicated deployments always return `bring-your-own-keys`, including when Langdock manages the model keys. The other mode returns `409` with `code` `BILLING_MODE_MISMATCH`. A seats path under `bring-your-own-keys` returns `404`.

## Base URL

```
https://api.langdock.com/billing/v1/ai-models-included/seats
```

## Prerequisites

* **API key** with the `BILLING_API` scope
* The key owner is a service account that has not been deleted and has an active Admin membership

## Read seats

`GET /billing/v1/ai-models-included/seats` returns seat counts for **Business** (`business`) and **Business Max** (`business_max`).

```json theme={null}
{
  "business": { "paid": 40, "assigned": 38, "free": 2 },
  "business_max": { "paid": 8, "assigned": 7, "free": 1 }
}
```

`paid` is the number of subscription seats. `assigned` is the number of active members on that plan. `free` is paid seats that no active member on that plan is using.

A plan change adds a billed seat when the target plan has no free seat left. The seat change is saved before the subscription update is sent to Stripe. Moving a member does not lower `paid` for the plan they leave. See [Set Included User Plan](https://docs.langdock.com/en/developer/billing-api/set-included-user-plan.md).
